Nothing cures a night of over indulging than a big bowl of ramen.
Over Fourth of July weekend, my husband and I avoided any social activities, but we did indulge in a few delicious IPA's. I didn't realize, until after a few, that it was a 7.5% beer. Oopsie! I woke up feeling like I got hit by a garbage truck.
It's my number one go-to comfort food, costs .25 cents, and can be jazzed up with a little creativity.
Top Roman (any flavor)
Loads of chopped garlic
Red Curry Paste
Other suggestions: Sriracha, diced onion, roasted brussel sprouts, leftover chicken, mushrooms, the options are endless
You can also do cold asian salad style ramen where you remove the pasta from water, run cold water over it and add red cabbage, an egg, sesame, shrimp, chicken, or tofu and toss in a sesame oil and vinegar dressing. Just save the packet for getting creative with something else.
The real tip here is using whatever you have laying around so obvs not everyone has miso paste but it's a great ingredient to keep around for broths and soups. It lasts awhile in the fridge too. I used broccoli in this recipe but if I had asparagus or any other veggie I'd toss it in. The goal, for me, is to just throw as many healthy things I can find into the broth. I just boiled the broccoli and jalapeno together with the egg. It's super quick and helps snap you out of the beer fear funk.
We even made a little backyard picnic out of it. Fresh air, some sunshine, and a little MFM podcast can cheer any girl up!
I hope you get creative with your ramen recipes and let me know what you come up with!
